ESTUDIO DE LA ECOEFICIENCIA EN LOS SISTEMAS DE PRODUCTO-SERVICIO (PSS). APLICACIÓN A LAS MÁQUINAS DE LAVADO

Abstract

Product-Service Systems (PSS) intend satisfy consumer needs by supplying a service instead of the purchase of the product. It has consequences in the final cost for the consumer and in the environmental impact produced in the products/services life cycle. The present study analyzes how to evaluate the eco-efficiency of a PSS, being this understood as the ratio between the environmental impact and the total cost of a product or service during its entire life cycle, with the objective of comparing if the introduction of a PSS represents an improvement in relation to the product replaced. The application case of washing clothes has been analyzed taking into account the electric washing machine purchase for domestic use and two different PSS scenarios.
