In the present work we tackle the relationship between Green House Gas (GHG) emissions and urban planning decisions related to the electricity generation mix emission factor. A methodology to calculate GHG emissions linked to urban infrastructures managed in urban planning plans is proposed and a GHG emissions sensitivity analysis referred to the electricity generation mix emission factor variations has been carried out. Results prove that electricity generation mix emission factor depending consumptions are ranked in the first or in the second position (compared with gas or fossil fuel depending consumptions). Results also show a synergetic effect from the electricity generation mix emission factor linked not only electricity consumption but also to other infrastructures such as drinking water, wastewater or waste management. The electricity generation mix emission factor becomes more important when forecasts about electricity vehicles developments are taken into account.
