At present, and similarly to what happens with a large number of countries in our environment, the energy dependence of Morocco is very high. In its case, imports 95% of energy consumed, reaching a deficit of 7.9% in its trade balance. In this scenario, this paper analyses and describes the projects and proposals that aim to achieve in 2030 a Moroccan energy mix with 52% of renewable origin. The initiatives are mainly of photovoltaic origin, as the projects promoted by Masen (Morrocan Agency For Solar Energy) and wind power, mainly the Tanger I wind farm (with 140MW installed). The article includes an analysis of the evolution of national regulations, aimed at energy development in Morocco, as the law 13-09, which regulates the development of national renewable energy sources and which at the moment constitutes one of the priorities of the national energy policy.
