    Resumen
The curricula of the Bachelor Degrees in Industrial Design Engineering include subjects in which diverse techniques to stimulate the creativity are explained and put into practice. However, once the subjects have been passed, designers do not use the great majority of these techniques and little is known about the causes of this. This paper explores whether the use of forced random stimuli leads to change the ideas previously obtained using sources of free inspiration. For this purpose, different types of random stimuli have been applied to previously obtained ideas and it has been analyzed to what extent the application of these stimuli has led to changes or modifications of previous ideas. We have also collected the impressions of the designers on the forced association of ideas from random stimuli, and how far they feel comfortable with them or prefer other inspiration sources.
