CREACIÓN DE UN EQUIPO UNIVERSITARIO ENFOCADO AL DISEÑO, LA CONSTRUCCIÓN Y LA GESTIÓN DEL PROYECTO DE UNA LANCHA DE COMPETICIÓN

Abstract

Engineering students and, specifically, the ones of the naval branch, does not usually have the chance to apply their knowledge in real engineering cases along their studies. It becomes therefore convenient to impulse multidisciplinary teams in the University, where pupils could develop to the fullest their knowledge in the different engineering areas. In this research the idea of the creation of a team focused on the design, construction and project management of a competition powerboat is presented. This team will be entirely formed by academic students, dividing the work tasks in different areas with a common goal: to finish with success the construction of a competitive powerboat. Among the various work areas, it will exist one destined to project management, in which the students that take part of it, should employ the acquired knowledge regarding project management in order to be able to work with the rest of areas and achieve thus to accomplish with the required terms, costs and requirements for the project. Finally, the characteristics of the teamwork will be defined, as well as it will be explained how learning is improved in the students and how it is achieved to prepare them better for their professional life.
