The number of accidents and work related diseases is a global concern. At Spanish level, the "Spanish Strategy for Health and Safety at Work 2015-2020" is the framework of public policies on health and safety. In this context, The data obtained from the ERGOMET research project are shown, which aims to respond to the social challenge of one of its lines of action: "Designing an action plan for reducing skeletal muscle disorders."
In the study, different kind of work places, repetitive tasks and different levels of efforts related to TME will be considered. For the evaluation and improvement of work places as well as with the aim to reduce the impact of occupational diseases, a ergonomic system with data logging systems supported by ICT tools has been implemented, achieving a faster and accurate identification of occupational risks.
The article shows the results in the University area, implementing it in laboratories of the School of Engineering of the University of Cadiz, extrapolable to the industrial sector, particularly in testing and calibration laboratories.
