To analyze the conditions of computer vision syndrome (CVS) associated with musculoskeletal disorder, personal and environmental alterations of the workers of a chemical and petrochemical company, present in the work with Video Terminals by means of a check list, in order to establish the existing relationship. Materials and Methods: The sample is of 46 participants according to the inclusion criteria, who through an e-mail received and responded to the check-list supplied according to the instructions, in addition to face- to -face follow -up for solving corcerns, The information obtained was compiled, performing the synthesis and analysis of the data. Results: The frequency of CVS was 86.9%, musculoskeletal symptoms of 67.3%, the evolution time was found less than one year; were observed a few ergonomic mismatches that according to documentation, may be potential risk factors for visual and musculoskeletal symptoms. The active breaks only by 52% of the sample, and 46% only make one break. Conclusion: Some ergonomic recommendations for workstations with video terminals are not met completely, there is an important manifestation of visual and musculoskeletal symptoms.
