    Abstract
The main purpose of the Explosion Protection Document is to give an overview of the conclusions drawn from the risk assessment and the technical and organizational measures that are imposed accordingly to ensure the safety and health of workers who may be affected by an explosion in the work environment. In the chemical industry, gases, liquids and flammable solids are used in many processes that can lead to explosive mixtures. Present work exposes the study that composes the “Explosion Protection Document” of a chemical industry dedicated to the manufacture of paints for cataphoresis, identifying and evaluating the risks for the possible generation of explosive atmospheres due to the chemicals used, establishing preventive and corrective measures to minimize or correct those risks. The areas and characteristics of each of the processes will be described, determining the type of area and extent based on technical standards, working procedures and current legislation. Thus, the work allows to obtain a study about the facilities and informs about the risks of explosion, ensuring the protection of the facility and its environment.
