Geotechnics is the branch of geology that studies the composition and the mechanical, hydraulic and engineering properties of the materials of the most superficial zone of the earth's crust in order to determine its properties for the analysis and design of the foundations in projects of Building and Civil Engineering.
The determination of the characteristics of the land by means of geotechnical studies in singular buildings or high-rise buildings (both residential and services) or in civil engineering works has been a normative requirement in the Spanish construction for a long time, being considered as a fact habitual. In industrial building, geotechnical studies before the entry into force of the Technical Building Code (2006) were not usual despite the economic importance of this type of buildings.
The aim of this paper is to present a case study of a logistics platform that it shows the influence of the terrain anomalies both in the technical aspect and in the economic aspect of the execution of a project.
