Pugh was a pionner in working on project methodology, involving multidisciplinary teams to gain a broad view of the problem, and to be able to solve it with knowledge from different sources that favor the innovative product in question.
The authors of the present communication used the Pugh theory to develop the stages of a project that is being carried out in Argentine, in which the competitiveness of a nanotechnology - treated cotton fabric is studied, which serves to repel mosquitoes and prevent their bites and diseases.
To this end, we have worked with the innovation management model proposed by Pugh, which details the potential of the actors involved (universities, State, companies and the user), and the advantages obtained by working together.
Then another Pugh interpretation (which says that the whole project is a central core of activities) was adopted, analyzing the needs of the market, defining the repellent fabric specifications, and defining its conceptual and detailed design. Other activities that are part of the nucleus are the production of the tissue and its commercialization, but have not been determined, since they are not yet defined in the project.
