HACIA UN NUEVO ENFOQUE EN LA GESTIÓN DE RIESGOS. LA IMPORTANCIA DEL TRATAMIENTO DE LAS CAUSAS DE RIESGO

Abstract

Projects are subject to an important degree of uncertainty since its inception. This uncertainty results into risks that will have consequences in it, preventing meeting its goals.

These deviations suggest that risk management should be redirected to a broader perspective that allows proactive strategies prior to the occurrence of risks.

This paper develops a new model of risk management based on the treatment of risk sources and change de project vulnerability.

The application of the model allows use proactive measures to reduce or eliminate exposure to risk causes and its sensitivity to the risks arising from these. Also it is possible to formulate and implement, in advance, reactive measures to ensure that once the risk has occurred, facilitate recovery and minimizing the consequences of risk to project completion.

The model has been validated in a large construction project , with an initial budget more than 50 million euros , and a construction period of 22 months.
