The application of phytosanitary products in plantations of fruit trees are made by trailed agricultural sprayers. Current demand is requesting larger implements that improve the results of the treatments.
In order to fulfil this demand, one of the adopted solutions consists of equipping the trailed agricultural sprayers with a second fan, placed in the front part of the implement, in addition to normal fan placed in the rear part.
The increase of the dimensions of the air-assited sprayers and the increase of the load to be transported requires the development of new models of chassis for such implements.
This paper shows the work done in the design and optimization of a new chassis model of an air-assited sprayer with two fans. In particular, in this paper shows the numerical optimization developed based in numerical analysis by means of the Finite Element Method.
