La figura del PM en la edificación: promoción y desarrollo profesional desde la Associació Catalana de Project Management

Abstract

In the current international context, project management has become a complex multidisciplinary and multisectoral profession. The figure of the PM in building industries is something increasingly common and valued by customers and one of the activities with greater projection in the world of building, although not as common or valued as we would like in our environment. Our association works since 2016 in the promotion and professionalization of the figure of the PM. Our association works since 2016 in the promotion and professionalization of the figure of the PM. We carry out work sessions, plan promotion and training actions, and investigate areas of interest of the specialty. Some outstanding actions carried out: Training Day in Federació de Municipis de Catalunya and Architecture Congress Barcelona 2016; courses and postgraduate specialization in Project Management at Escola Sert; papers and presentations at conferences and events (Construmat, Localtic, BIMTour) The low presence or limited recognition of the figure of the PM should not stop us, on the contrary: it should motivate us to continue disseminating the importance of the integral management of the projects to achieve success. ACPM works to make the PM an indispensable element in our project teams in the near future.
