    Abstract
Probably designed by the architect Jacinto Arregui, the structure of the building, located in the old town of Logroño (La Rioja- Spain), and which data are available since 1867, has five trusses “amansardadas” type, which a 11 meters without supports. These five trusses, with large section of pine and oak, have important characteristics: first, the fact of being sawn, with their knots and fissures, which provide them an important heterogeneity in composition. Second, their age and the years of neglect, with woodworm attacks, which cause loss of section. Third, the different shape and height that are the metallic straps, which give different trusses edges as they approach or depart the embedment. Finally, appears a very old steel, impossible to classify and catalog its composition under the current rules. The challenge is the calculation of a structure not as if it were new, but starting from an existing structure, make it valid under the current rules. Keywords: structural calculation; lumber structure; xylophages attack.
