    Abstract
This work describes the current situation of the production process of a wood coating company. In the painting section of this process, organic solvents which are dangerous for health, are used. In addition, the whole production process includes potentially dangerous machinery, tools and materials. After obtaining unfavorable results when performing hygienic measurements in the workstations and periodic health checks of the employees, a risk identification and evaluation process of the industrial activities in the company's paint section has been carried out. This paper describes the methodology of identification, evaluation and proposal of preventive measures of existing risks, with the purpose of guaranteeing health and safety of the employees and minimizing possible environmental damage. The results are based on the current legislation, the National Institute for Safety and Hygiene at Work (INSHT) and the Evaluation Guide for SMEs, together with the help of the company that has facilitated the research in situ. By carrying out this health and safety study, the main risks of the production process have been derived, as well as a proposal of preventive measures which minimize existing risks and guarantee an improved health and safety of the affected employees.
