With the present work the information about Hand-Arm Vibrations (HAV), given by the manufacturers of tools in the instruction manuals, has been analysed with the objective of determining if said information is adequate to perform the risk assessment by exposition estimation of the workers to HAV, according to the UNE EN ISO 20643:2005 standard and the 2006/42/CE machine directive. To fulfil this objective, a data collection and analysis of instruction manuals of 1822 tool references from manufacturer 1 and manufacture 2 was done.
It can be concluded from the results of this study, that the information provided by these two manufacturers in their instruction manuals starting from 2006, is in its majority complete. However, additional studies are necessary, for example, regarding the test codes used or in terms of quality of the information supplied by the manufacturers in the instruction manuals, as in the present thesis/work only the existence of the required information was analysed; it would also be convenient to extend the analysis to more manufacturers, in order to reach a definitive conclusion.
