    Resumen
Simulation is a common procedure for the characterization and energy analysis of buildings. Although the simulation tools are continually improving, the energy modelling process is still a specialized work, which entails a cost in terms of staffing and time. The use of new systems and tools can provide automatic and more accurate real models, which represents a significant advance in the simulation methods. This paper presents a methodology that uses together dense laser scanner and infrared data in order to calibrate energy models obtained from a simulation software. The data acquisition system automatically provides a set of thermal point clouds of a scene at different times, which are later processed and turned into a 3D geometrics and thermal models. The geometric model at each time is then encoded in a gbXML format and finally exported to an energy simulation software. With regard to the thermal model, it is used to calibrate the energy model which was generated in the simulation tool. As a result, this methodology highly reduces the data collection, modelling and analysis times, and substantially improves the accuracy of the simulated models.
