Creativity is an inherent and available feature of human beings. However, it is more easily expressed during childhood, since established social structures make adults self-restrict their creativity. So, creativity is a competence that should be reactivated in the Bachelor degree on Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering, together with other skills necessary to complete the training of a competent designer for the 21st century.
This work shows a comparative study about the results of solving the same problem of creative conceptual design by two different groups of population: one of them without specific skills about design (High School students) and the other with specific competences (students of the Bachelor degree on Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering).
The analysis of the results is presented both qualitatively and quantitatively, studying the differences and similarities between the design proposals obtained by the two groups of population compared.
