LED technology has become the reference solution for public lighting facilities. This is due to its great light and energy efficiency and also for its capacity to generate white light with great chromatic versatility. The latter contrasts with the homogeneous and fixed photometric emission schemes of conventional discharge lamp technologies.
The progressive replacement of light points in municipalities with LED luminaires, in many cases, by different manufacturers and characteristics and the transition period in which they coexist with sodium-vapor and metal halide lamps are creating environments with a significant heterogeneity spectral that is expressed in different measures of color temperature values and color rendering index (CRI) in adjoining streets or even within themselves along their route.
In this work, the results of applying a methodology of detailed analysis of lighting installations using a Geographic Information System (GIS) applied to the city of Malaga are collected. This cartographic database allows to analyze and evaluate the photometric parameters of urban lighting facilities, even dynamically over time, and establish: homogeneity faults, futures work patterns and equipment selection and the analysis of the regulatory light quality and protection of the night sky standards.
