Diseño de un sistema de iluminación para la pesca de cerco

Abstract

The purse-seine fishing in Catalonia is a fishing activity that takes place at night and whose main target species are sardines and anchovies.

The usual work schedule is between 12 in the evening and 7 in the morning.

The modality is based on the use of two boats. One, the largest one that is responsible for the detection of shoals, to carry out the purse seine maneuver and bagging it and also to board it and then transport it to the port where its first sale is to take place.

The small boat (light boat) is equipped with an autonomous system of lighting of great power that facilitates the concentration of the fish around it.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the process of designing a solution based on LED technology alternative to the current lighting system based on incandescence used in the auxiliary boat in purse seine fishing.
