The economic appraisal of the damage caused by an environmental catastrophe is essential to compensate its social and environmental effects. It is a very complex problem, in which appraisers should consider multiple variables and points of view of the stakeholders.
The aim of this work is contributing to improve the assessment processes of environmental damage, using the AMUVAM methodology (Analytic Multicriteria Valuation Method), exemplified in the forest fire occurred in 2017, in Santa Olga village (Chile) that affected 570,197 hectares.
To meet this objective, a short revision of different models used in the damage will be done. The most relevant variables will be determined and the AMUVAM methodology will be applied as a model in the variables analysis, and the results collection and its analysis.
