The execution of works has a strong impact on public and private construction sector, so an appropriate planning and implementation allow resources to be used efficiently. Studies carried out in different parts of the world claim that delays in the implementation of projects cause loss both investors and construction companies, and also tend to cause legal disputes between them. (Solis Carcano, 2009).
In construction projects, the higher demand tends to be compliance with deadlines. With traditional construction there are very frequent delays in the works and exceeded the scope of the cost estimated in the budget, due to different factors arisen during the construction: climate, changes in design, scope, lack of planning, etc.
Companies are opting for the method Fast track in order to reduce the time of execution of the projects. Fast track method consists of overlapping activities, i.e. start an activity or task before the end of another, and so make them tasks that would usually be sequential parallel. Applying Fast track the project is building as it is designed. This paper presents the application of the method Fast track to a case study, in order to show the advantages of this technique over traditional methods.
