    Resumen
    The innovation environment is defined as a territorial area in which the interactions between economic agents are developed through learning and the common management of resources. In order for an environment to be considered innovative, it must meet two requirements: openness to the outside world and capacity to create innovation networks. This communication proposes a way to measure the variables on which an innovation environment is based and, subsequently, to implement them in a model based on the dynamics of systems that allow their simulation. The model is validated against data from the innovation environment known as "The Knowledge Mile of Gijón".
