A large airport is composed of a complex set of systems that must operate as a single system. The system integration is a necessary mean to automate the information exchanges and as such to optimize the global exploitation of the airport functions (operations, services to the passenger, safety, maintenance, management of infrastructure means, commercial management, etc), allowing to perform a monitoring of the level of services.
The system integration management is a complex process of steering and coordination of the very diverse organizations and suppliers of different systems and technologies, which activities and supplies must be planned. Planning that has to be design rigorously and conducted accurately, due to the many actors intervening, to the need of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of the airport, and to the challenge to finish the process in a very specific due date. It is necessary to design and to execute an exhaustive process of integration tests in diverse incremental scenarios, which guarantee the suitable coordinated execution of all the airport exploitation processes. An advanced integration trial centre is required, incorporating models of all the systems already existing and new systems, as a step before the on site integration trial.
