The World Council of Civil Engineering - WCCE in the spirit of collaborating with the breakthrough in sustainable civil engineering is developing a tool that is assessed according to criteria of sustainable civil engineering projects. Since Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, who in 1984 introduced the concept of sustainability in engineering based on three objectives: environmental protection, integration in society and an optimum social cost for it, plans land and infrastructure for cities and developers and design teams of construction projects have tried to approach the concept in a particular way and various organizations of private or social nature have created standards. The idea of all is to seek maximum acceptance by citizens and customers of its management or its services or products. At present there are a variety of assessment tools and a wide dispersion in the approach of the concept, it creates a confusion in society and the system as well as abuse in the use of the concept that may cause the loss of values same. In this paper, the authors, who have been selected by the WCCE for the design of the tool, describe the methodology they have followed for drafting the first version of the same and processes designed to quickly become a standard for providing project managers the approach to sustainable criteria in it.
