Currently, asynchronous tools for sharing information and documents are used in workgroup practice. Events created by users can be monitored and studied to find relations between the group behavior and the result obtained. The goal of this communication is to present the results obtained during 2 years in subjects of Industrial Engineering projects on behaviors that show a correspondence with the final evaluation of the work.
In the first phase, measurable indicators in the logs of events of asynchronous tools have been established, such as number of document readings and changes, the number of
management events, the total number of sessions, the number of group members, the standard deviation of their participation and the standard deviation of the activity over time. In a second phase the necessary data was collected, and finally the relationships between indicators and results were analyzed, finding trends that suggest a better practice of workgroup.
Keywords: workgroup; asynchronous tool; monitoring activity
