This paper is the result of a project to improve methods of digitization using parametric CAD software. (López and Caro, 2007).
The geometric relationships is one of the most repeated problems in digital models. From initial design specifications, these problems are present as in the 2D phase, when profiles are created, which might be called internal relations, as in the 3D phase, when operating with a profile a surface or a solid is created, which might be called external relations. (López, Caro and Ramírez, 2008).
The Relationship Analysis proposed is a tool to help manage the work of establishing the necessary relationships in the digital models. To do this, it is needed to make previously a Functional Analysis and a Geometric Analysis of the model.
The Functional Analysis separates the action that makes the component of the product itself, which is carried out to seek new solutions to the same concept. The Geometric Analysis orders the sequence of the different parts that compose the final model.
