    Resumen
    Rural/local development requires people that are capable of undertaking the management of their activities, integrating them in the overall view of the land they inhabit. Rural schools represent their first training environment and therefore a key element in the future development of people. But this type of school has lost ground over the years as a constructor of meanings; it has witnessed the systematic elimination of its ability to generate symbolization capacities, which causes a constant lack of moral and social standards in its entirety. Reality is presented in a fragmented way, that is unable to provide a logical and symbolic order that may hold and retain the attention of students that are therefore incapable of structuring change, a fundamental factor for rural development/local. A share action, the family vegetable garden, is hereby presented as an integrating tool to be applied in the province of Buenos Aires. Its aim is to improve with a significant leap forward the difficulties that have been diagnosed and provide elements for the reconstruction of a shared representation of reality based on an emancipatory education and provider of a knowledge that prepares for an active role of the individual.
