PROCESOS DE GENERACIÓN DE REDES SOCIALES. CASO DE ESTUDIO: LAS MUJERES RURALES DEL DEPARTAMENTO DEL GUAIRÁ, PARAGUAY.
Resumen
Rural population represents almost 50% of the whole world population. In this framework, rural women play a very important role, as they have a privileged vision of the rural reality. In Latin America, rural women become more and more important and they have strength their way to organize as a strategy to take opportunities and to build capacities. In addition, women’s associations permits organizations to be the beneficiaries of supporting funds, especially those coming from development cooperation institutions.
In Paraguay 47.7% of the rural population are women.
This paper aims to reflect the features of these kinds of women’s associations and to study their composition, as well as to establish a mapping of the Paraguayan system of
organization.
Focusing on the Guairá region, who is one of the priority areas in receiving funds from development in Paraguay, the paper will show the exit criteria of creation process of a
network of rural women, beneficiary of funds from the United Nations Development fund for Women (UNIFEM)
