There are many industrial activities that requiere a cost, schedule and quality mesurement and control, but there are not usually managed in a project way. This communication describes a methodology for the industrial maintenance stops based in the most common project management methodologies. The startpoint is a revision of the actual practices, reviewing with the guidelines of the process of the Project Management Institute BoK. The work defines the detected problem and give a particular adaptation of the PMI process according to the specific issues of the stoppage maintenance operation for energy and industrial plants.
