Landscape integration in forest management has improved for the last three decades by deeper landscape ecology research and several regulations as the environmental impact assessment or specific forest management policy.
The European Council agreed the European Landscape Convention in Florence (Oct. 2000). It aims to protect, manage and plan all landscapes in Europe. In Spain, this Convention came into effect in 2008 and must be applied.
In this study we present the landscape initiatives in forest management through policy and measures for application in Spain, Europe and USA.
