The Spanish food industry is the high industrial subsector, both the business volume, and the number of jobs. In 2008, the data indicate that sells for 16.4% of total net sales
for the entire industry that employs over 500,000 people. Its production accounts for 7.6% of GDP. If you add the primary sectors and business related, the food industry
accounts for 20% of GDP. However, given that Spain has no high-tech and cheap labor, must seek his expertise in other ways such as training, research and innovation. However, the Agrifood sector is one of the most difficult in our economy to promote its involvement in the R & D + innovation for various reasons like lack of education, lack of critical mass, low investment activity, and so on.
The present communication presents and develops a solution to this problem: the creation of food as a platform project will help spread a culture of innovation within the
industry, uncovering business needs, and to order measures solve and to mediate between the institutions and businesses within a climate of honesty and seriousness.
