EL PLAN DE DESARROLLO COMARCAL DE GALICIA 1990‐2005

Abstract

In the last decade of the 20th century, Galicia constitutes in laboratory for the implantation of an innovative model of organization of the territory, the Comarcal Development Plan, that having its origin in the theoretical models of the 60s, it will gather the last trends of the territorial planning and will take them to the practice by means of its assumption as strategic initiative of the Galician government until the year 2005. The Comarcal Development Plan tried to correct the socioeconomic and territorial, endemic imbalances in Galicia, to give them response by means of an own model of endogenous development and territorial organization based on the putting in value of the regional resources. It supposed definitively, the materialization of a singular and innovative proposal of territorial model, so much from the socioeconomic point of view, of the organization of the space, as of its physical materialization. Formed of legislative texts, new institutional instruments for gobernability of Galician territory, an autonomous map of territorial organization, strategic plans for comarcal areas, projects and works, the Galician Comarcal Development Plan, opposite to other analogous initiatives put in march in Spain at the same time, supposed the search of an own model of regional development.
