The disassembly at the end of life (EOL) of the product has adquired importance as a result of the initiatives to reduce environmental impact through the reuse and recycling of components.
To decide what EOL to take, the economic viability must be evaluated. For this purpose, the time of disassembly, the cost of tooling needed, the tools, of the workforce, the logistics, and the building of the energy consumed, have to be known.
The aim of this communication is to determine the validity of the methods of estimating time of disassembly (Kroll, Desai & Mital, etc.) developed for electrical-electronic products within the furniture sector.
Keywords: Design for disassembly, time of disassembly
