CONCIENCIACIÓN DEL AHORRO ENERGÉTICO A TRAVÉS DEL DISEÑO INTERACTIVO
Resumen
AWARE is a research project, at “The Interactive Institute” (Stockholm, Sweden) which investigates interaction design as a means of increasing social awareness of how energy is used and for stimulating changes in energy behaviour.
It fosters the interaction and visualization of consumption with new interfaces and thereby explores energy as a material for design to improve behaviour patterns in energy use, stimulating reflection.
The final outcome is a collection of four conceptual design proposals, AWARE Lifestyle Collection, which is used as means for sparking debate and raises questions on everyday situations and involves user in product experiences. A palette of interactive designs like: AWARE Chandelier, combines forms from the new and old in an effort to revitalize the most well known, and rejected, shape of the low energy lamp; AWARE Laundry Lamp can be used both as a lamp and as a washstand; AWARE Energy Clock can display and helps to visually compare the total energy consumption for a household or for single appliances and AWARE Puzzle Switches is an on/off button designed in order to encourage people to turn off energy consuming products, by playing with people’s built-in desire for order.
Keywords: interactive design, energy saving awareness
