APTITUD TECNOLÓGICA Y DEFINICIÓN DE USOS POTENCIALES DE LA MADERA DE ROBLE GALLEGO

Abstract

The aim of this work is to study some physical and mechanical properties of oaks wood in Galicia. Several physical (shrinkage, wood moisture and hardness) and mechanical parameters (static bending strength, elasticity modulus,...) was calculated as the wood UNEEN norms. The test tubes belong to wood disks obtained from different heights of the analyzed trees. As an important parameter the distances to the center of the tree of the different test tubes have been mesured, which allows to know the different wood properties through the tree life. It’s important that exists a significant relation between wood properties and tree altitude ubication.
