The entry into force of the new European Higher Education Area (EHEA) has promoted the upgrade of the learning methods used in Spanish universities. The incorporation of ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) has involved the reconsideration of the traditional teaching models, as well as the assessment methods. Continuous assessment has become a key element in this change, encouraging and improving both the learning process of students and teaching methods used by teachers.
The aim of this paper is to analyse the results obtained by incorporating continuous assessment in the course Environmental Technology and Industrial Safety, taught in Industrial Technology and Mechanical Engineering Degrees at the Universitat Jaume I, and to compare them with those obtained previously to the EHEA implementation.
