EL EMPODERAMIENTO DE LAS MUJERES RURALES. ANÁLISIS DE LAS ESTRATEGIAS Y METODOLOGÍAS APLICADAS INTERNACIONALMENTE

Abstract

In rural areas, poverty factors get worse in women case because of both, their greater load of responsibilities and their vulnerability inside of the communities. In order to give answer to this problem many agencies have developed worldwide different tools and methodologies focused on improving women status inside of their communities. In this paper, strategies and methodologies will be analysed according to the specific characteristics of the different rural communities; the goal and level of the intervention carried out, and the different understanding of the empowerment concept. We will show the most international developed tools for empowering rural women and the main difficulties resulting from their application.
