Nowadays ergonomists and health and safety professionals apply a great variety of ergonomic assessment methods to the workstations analysis. The aim of this paper is to
determinate the degree of applicability of ergonomic assessment methods to real scenarios. This research has studied factors such as the difficulty of obtaining the information required by the method, the method simplicity, the quality of the provided results, the capability of adaptation to each assessment situation, as well as the correspondence between the risk perceived by ergonomist from his experience and the results provided by method.
The survey analyses user’s opinions, gathered from the ergonomic specialized website ergonautas.com, about the following ergonomic assessment methods: Reba, Rula, Owas, Niosh, Lest, Jsi, I.N.S.H.T guide, and Ocra Checklist. Other studied factors are the user’s characteristics, their formative type, their age and years experience in the ergonomic or prevention field.
