| dc.description | Los sectores del comercio de alimentación y productos del hogar y la distribución alimentaria son de gran relevancia dentro de la economía española, siendo además grandes generadores de residuos de envase y embalaje. Por lo tanto, el estudio de su comportamiento en la generación y gestión de los residuos de envase industriales y comerciales, particularmente de los materiales mayoritarios que son el plástico y el cartón, resulta de especial interés. Este artículo muestra los resultados obtenidos a partir de la realización de una encuesta dirigida a los centros de distribución y sus puntos de venta, centrándose en el estudio de los residuos de envase que se quedan en el centro de distribución, es decir, que no llegan al consumidor final y de este modo se gestionan como residuos de envase industrial. | dc.description.abstract | The sale and distribution of food, drink and home products sectors are very important to the Spanish economy, and are also big creators of packaging waste. Therefore, the study of their behavior in the generation and management of industrial and commercial packaging waste, in particular of the majority of materials, which are made of plastic and cardboard, is of special interest. This article shows the results of a survey aimed at distribution and retail centres, concentrating on the waste packaging that remains in the distribution centre, or rather, which do not reach the consumer and are therefore dealt with as industrial packaging waste.
