We introduce the motivation, development and results from the ‘Galdeki’ on-line surveys manager project.
Opinion queries conducted on paper-based surveys involves a considerable consumption of natural resources, a precious and lengthy analysis time and an excessive delay in the feedback response. Only the opinion surveys carried out annually by the students of the University of the Basque Country need to cut down around 105 trees (2.7 tons of paper).
Bearing in mind the definition of Quality given by Taguchi in 1986 as “the minimum loss the use of a product or a service causes to the society”. We have felt the need for defining, scheduling and develop a project which offers a tool capable of eliminating any paper consumption and, simultaneously, increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the query process and identifies improvement opportunities through it.
Thus, the developed product called “Galdeki: an on-line surveys manager” is a web application which facilitates the creation of different topology surveys, collects the answers, calculates the results and assists in the process of generating the related reports for both the survey creator and the persons who are surveyed.
Keywords: Project Team. Web surveys manager. Improvement opportunities
