    Abstract
    Environmental conditions of the livestock buildings can be used like indicators of safety, health and comfort of the worker, of the animal welfare or of a possible air pollution. The environmental conditions of different livestock buildings in Galicia have been researched. This communication present the results obtained about levels of lighting in these centers of work. 31 livestock buildings were selected (12 cattle farms, 6 of dairy cattle and 6 of beef cattle; 12 pig farms, 4 of pregnant sows, 4 of maternity sows and 4 of fattening pigs; and 7 poultry farms, five of chickens and two of turkeys) where were realized the necessary measurements that allowed to obtain the noise maps during a normal working day. The results of the practically whole number of studied farm were within the desirable levels except in the case of pig farms. Keywords: livestock buildings; safety; occupational hazards; noise
