Abstract

The recent issue of the new Reglamento de Instalaciones Térmicas (RITE RD. 1027/2007), together with the introduction of the Código Técnico de la Edificación (CTE RD. 314/2006) have introduced a number of changes in the car parks ventilation and fire protection equipment, among others. One of the aims of the Design guide for the design engineer. Car parks equipment: Ventilation and Fire Protection is to ensure that the work of the Ingenieros Industriales association meets high quality standards and includes the minimum required contents. This document enables the analysis of the regulations relevant to this equipment, establishes a clear methodology for the project development and includes comments, advice and practical examples. The Guide also includes indications that will help the design engineer declassify car parks as fire or explosion risk premises, under the current Reglamento de Baja Tensión (REBT RD 842/2002).
