    Resumen
It is considered necessary the development of tools that would allow the quality management in the processes design. The approaches developed and applied in construction projects it is made from that construction started on site, and they do not take into account the failures and quality management costs within the processes of design. This paper describes the methodological components for measuring and tracking quality costs in design of construction projects (QCDCP), based on the Process Cost Model (PCM) and on the Projects Design Methodology of the Technical University of Catalonia (MDP-UPC). The application of a quality cost model in the project design it is an alternative for to manage continual improvement from the beginning of the project in a context where the number of publications on quality costs is limited. Keywords: Quality, Quality costs, Processes, Design, Construction projects.
