The European Space for Higher Education will suppose an approach to the knowledge using new methods of learning. Authors want to show their experience in the Mechanical Engineering Dept. of the University of Zaragoza. “Design of plastic parts for Automotive Industry”, a new subject for engineering students, is described in this paper. An active methodology was used, and students were forced to follow the timeline of an automotive component as an industrial project leader usually does (feasibility, technical study, tool definition, target cost, machinery required, etc.). That job was developed in groups of three to six people. Professors evaluated the final report from an industrial point of view, playing the role of a customer and with intermediate evaluations of planned milestones. This experience, that has already surpassed its fourth edition, is considered very positive for future engineers. Keywords: European Space for Higher Education, educational experience, plastic design
