Courses of “Project Design” in the realm of university curricula have the inexcusable task of leading students into, on one hand, analyzing the validity of their own technical knowledge, acquired in a fragmented way through a series of courses, and, on the other hand, establishing the connections between disciplines that crystallize in the writing of a project.
However, that is not the end of what is in our opinion a fundamental task: courses on “Engineering Projects” must cover essential aspects of the student’s future professional practice, such as presentation of the project, the documents it comprises, its real utility, its formal inclusion, its clear and concise wording, and, if needed, its implementation.
In any case, the development and delivery of the course, the student’s awareness and his or her orientation must be planned at this present time considering two main aspects: on one hand, the adaptation to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), and on the other, the obvious need of conducting professional work in multidisciplinary teams.
In the following presentation we develop the methodology applied in recent years in the teaching of the discipline “Engineering Projects” at the Public University of Navarre.
