The safety of people in case of emergency in the industrial field, depends on the environment and the activities carried out, the dynamics of the fire and the behavior of the people who are in the building, both workers and visitors.
The evacuation of people during an emergency, it is relatively simple to analyze the time to move from the moment they start the journey until reaching a safe area. On the other hand, it is more complicated to predict the time from when an alarm sounds until people start the journey, because there are innumerable factors that can delay this time several minutes.
In order to know which parameters are most influencing the time between the sound of the alarm and the start of the evacuation, an emergency experience has been developed by virtual reality in which the participants, who have no prior knowledge of such emergency, they have a behavior that is recorded and can be analyzed.
The objective of this article is to present and analyze the experience by generating a risk environment through virtual reality to evaluate the decision making of the participants.
