As reflected in the "6th National Survey of Working Conditions in Spain" published in March 2017, one of the most marked risks for workers are high and low temperatures (36% and 25% of workers, respectively), since 2010 the exposure to situations of thermal stress has increased significantly, from 26% to 36%, starting from this situation and applying the current regulations on the prevention of occupational hazards (RD 486/97), the research project of the University of Cádiz 20INPR0180, with the objective of evaluating and designing an action plan focused on the environmental conditions of the jobs.
One of the main deliverables of this research project is the development of a collection system supported by TICs, for a more efficient evaluation of the internal environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, air speed and CO2 concentration), with the objective to identify trends and prevent health problems related to the quality of the indoor environment.
The work details the results of application in the university environment, classrooms and laboratories of the School of Engineering of Cádiz, in order to be extrapolated to industrial environments.
