This document presents a methodology to be used as a guide for the identification and analysis of risks in liquefied natural gas (LNG) satellite plants.
A search and consultation of the current legislation, sectoral regulations, documents and guides with the available techniques relating to safety and their applications in LNG facilities is carried out, and there are multiple and different tools and methods to be taken into account for risk analysis . The importance of the standards NFPA 59 A and UNE-EN 1473 for the design of LNG plants and the relevance they give to the risk analysis and the subsequent implementation of the security measures required to guarantee acceptable levels of risk in the LNG plants.
Later, among all the available tools, the HAZOP method is selected as a reference process for the identification and analysis of risks in the proposed methodological guide for its application in LNG satellite plants.
