    Resumen
The use of acoustic barriers is one of the most used techniques to reduce or eliminate the annoyance caused by noise. Although research on acoustic barriers has been developing since 1950, the scientific community remains active in this area. In recent years, the use of periodic structures as noise reduction devices has been the subject of research by the scientific community. An alternative to continuous acoustic barriers are those based on sonic crystals, which are open and tunable barriers. In the present work an open, modular, tunable and with a broad band of attenuation in the low frequency range acoustic barrier based on subwavelength slits is presented as an alternative to classical acoustic barriers and those based on sonic crystals. This new acoustic barrier is tunable, it is an open structure and the total thickness is less than that of a barrier based on sonic crystals
